Site	Description
CIFP	The Country Indicators for Foreign Policy provides measures of domestic armed conflict, governance and political instability, militarization, religious and ethnic diversity, demographic stress, economic performance, human development, environmental stress, and international linkages.
COW	The Correlates of War project seeks to facilitate the collection, dissemination, and use of accurate and reliable quantitative data in international relations. Free datasets.
GRIP	The Group for Research and Information on Peace and Security studies European defense and security, the prevention and resolution of African conflicts, arms races, and a host of other topics. Site is in French.
IISS	The Institute for International Security Studies publishes The Military Balance, an assessment of the military capabilities and defense economies of 170 countries.
PRIO	The International Peace Research Institute is the oldest peace research institute in the world. Centre for the Study of Civil War.
SIPRI	The Stockholm International Peace Research Institute conducts research on questions of conflict and cooperation of importance for international peace and security. Extensive military expenditure data by country.

US Military Expenditure and Capabilities

Site	Description
CSBA	The Center for Strategic and Budgetary Assessments is an independent public policy research institute in Washington, DC. Annual analysis of US defense appropriations, and is a partner with EPS in the Security Policy Working Group.
CDI	The Center for Defense Information provides extensive data and analysis, and is a partner with EPS in the Security Policy Working Group.

Western Europe

CAAT	Campaign Against Arms Trade, based in the UK, provides data on spending, defense contractors, etc.

Russia

Site	Description
CAST	The Centre for Analysis of Strategies and Technologies is a non-governmental research center specializing in the analysis and study of Russia's defense and security policy, the Russian defense industry and arms trade with foreign countries. Produces the Moscow Defence Brief.
